The bodies of three young people were found hanging from the branch of a tree in Kadigawa, in the Eppawala police area, last morning. Police Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said that the police were yet to determine whether the deaths were the result of murder or suicide.

The three bodies have been identified as those of two teenage girls, and a young man. The two girls were fifteen and seventeen years old, and were identified as two sisters, the police said. The man, aged twenty-seven, is believed to have been in a relationship with the older girl.
